The Story of Chocolate Exhibition

Bristol is well known for its chocolate heritage and was once home to an industry that employed thousands of people.

The exhibition will tell the story of how chocolate was first discovered in the Americas, later coming to the attention of European explorers, it’s development since the early eighteenth century, and how this led to the growth of the industry in Bristol and many other western countries.

The exhibition includes many fascinating historic photographs of Bristol’s once booming chocolate industry including Fry’s and Elizabeth Shaw.
